In my role as managing partner, I oversee many of the firm’s daily operations ranging from the financial analytics of the firm’s performance to human resource issues like talent management and retention.

In my role as financial adviser, I treasure the personal connections I have with my clients, and I see their goals as my own. Because I have always juggled three cultural identities – Taiwanese, Japanese and American – I have spent a great deal of time figuring out who I am and what I value. For instance, it was my years in medical school that finally led me to my true career passion – financial planning. That journey carries through to how I serve my clients, every day. I do my best work when I’m able to connect with clients in a way that enables me to understand what they value most. That means we often spend time discussing topics that typical financial advisers wouldn’t.

My Japanese upbringing taught me to respect patience and calmness, and that may be why my clients often tell me that they view me as a voice of reason – one that is always on their side, helping them to make financial decisions that are consistent with their values.
